Helping Others to thrive: Regulate, Relate, Reason, a neurosequential model.
This Model of Regulate, Relate, Reason comes from the work of Dr Bruce Perry, the model technically is structured towards helping to support children who have experienced trauma, however I think it can be equally as helpful when working with adults who are experiencing distress. I am not an expert on this work, and if you would like to know more I would recommend heading straight to the source. He has two extremely interesting books "The boy who was raised as a dog: and other stories from a child psychiatrists notebook" and "What happened to you" and there is plenty more information about the good doctor on the internet.
The quote at the beginning of this video comes from the book "7 and a half lessons about the brain" by Lisa Feldman Barrett (another neuroscientist) and is also an extremely interesting read.
